text_orientation=\"justified \" global_colors_info=\"{} \"]<\/p>\n<h3>Chassiron lighthouse<\/h3>\n<p>Chassiron at the northern tip of the island of Oleron, facing the ocean, regulates the maritime traffic close to the coast of the island of Oleron. It became important in the 17th century when it was necessary to increase the security of the channel. Its 46 m high tower can be seen up to 35 km during the day and its light up to 52 km during a clear night.<\/p>\n<p>A beautiful staircase of 224 steps leads up to the lantern, which is lit by incandescent acetylene light. Initially painted white, in 1926 the three 6-metre high black stripes that characterise it today were added to make it more visible by day in the fog and to differentiate it from its neighbour on the Ile de R\u00e9, the Baleines lighthouse.<\/p>\n<p>The Chassiron site was completely rehabilitated in 2007. The Marais aux Oiseaux, located in a sensitive natural area of some 130 hectares, is home to an educational discovery park and a rescue centre for birds in distress.<\/p>\n<p>The park offers visits along a 1.5 km path, accessible to all, with information points on the life of the species encountered.<br \/>At the beginning of the trail, a mini-farm allows children to get close to some mammals and birds. In 1988, Jacques Antoine bought the Fort Boyard for 1.5 million Francs and sold it for a symbolic 1 Franc to the Charente-Maritime General Council, which rehabilitated it, thus enabling the television programmes you know to be filmed there every summer.<\/p>\n<p>The programme does not allow an interior visit to Fort Boyard, instead you can visit Fort Louvois. The Marais aux Oiseaux, located in a sensitive natural area of some 130 hectares, is home to an educational discovery park and a rescue centre for birds in distress.<\/p>\n<p>The park offers visits along a 1.5 km path, accessible to all, with information points on the life of the species encountered.<br \/>At the beginning of the trail, a mini-farm allows children to get close to some mammals and birds. Here, some huts serve the local oyster industry, others house artists or creators who practice their craft and open their doors to visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Not far from there, the Fort Royer site offers a perfect view of oyster farming. The channels and oyster beds were created by dint of hard work in the 1920s in a natural area of mudflats enclosed by a dune belt. Il est devenu important au XVIIe si\u00e8cle quand il fallait augmenter la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 du pertuis. Sa tour d\u2019une hauteur de 46 m se voit jusqu\u2019\u00e0 35 km de jour et son feu \u00e0 52 km par nuit claire.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Un bel escalier de 224 marches conduit \u00e0 la lanterne, \u00e9clair\u00e9e par la lumi\u00e8re ac\u00e9tyl\u00e8ne \u00e0 incandescence.\u00a0D\u2019abord peint en blanc, on lui rajouta en 1926 les 3 bandes noires d\u2019une hauteur de 6 m\u00e8tres qui le caract\u00e9risent aujourd\u2019hui, pour le rendre plus visible de jour dans la brume et le diff\u00e9rencier de son voisin de l'\u00eele de R\u00e9, le phare des Baleines.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le site de Chassiron a \u00e9t\u00e9 enti\u00e8rement r\u00e9habilit\u00e9 en 2007. Le Marais aux Oiseaux, implant\u00e9 au sein d\u2019un espace naturel sensible de quelques 130 ha, abrite un parc de d\u00e9couverte \u00e0 vocation p\u00e9dagogique et un centre de sauvegarde destin\u00e9 \u00e0 venir en aide aux oiseaux en d\u00e9tresse.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Le parc propose des visites le long d\u2019un sentier de 1,5 km, accessible \u00e0 tous, jalonn\u00e9 de bornes d\u2019information sur la vie des esp\u00e8ces rencontr\u00e9es.\nEn d\u00e9but de parcours, une mini-ferme permet aux enfants de c\u00f4toyer quelques mammif\u00e8res et volatiles.
